Antam’s EBITDA Growth 35%, amidst Commodity Price Volatility

Aneka Tambang, Tbk (ANTM IJ), is one of the largest miners in Indonesia, reported its Earnings Before Interest, Tax and Depreciation (EBITDA) worth IDR361.8bn during 1H2017, or higher 35% compared to same period 2016. For the record, the average nickel price at level USD4.55 per pound, and gold at USD1,272 per oz during 1H2017. In early September 2017, the average nickel price reached USD5.43 per pound. During 1H2017, Antam’s ferronickel volume production growth 12% to 9,237 ton nickel in ferronickel (Tni), from 8,304 TNi in same period 2016. Meanwhile, Antam’s sales volume decreased 4% to 7,791 TNi, amidst the replacement work of roof in Electric Smelting Furnace-3 (ESF-3), and optimization of FeNi III factory production facility with operational capacity of 10,000 TNi per year.
