Total corporate bonds issuance in the first nine month of this year has reached a staggering IDR79trn, up by 26% than full year issuances in 2015. This year issuances were still dominated by banks and multifinance firms with their combined issuances accounted for 80% of total year to date issuances. The biggest issuer was Eximbank, that had released a total of IDR12.4trn bonds this year and the second one is Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BBRI IJ) with total IDR9trn bonds issuance thus far. Yet Bank BRI has sign up for another bond program worth IDR7trn while its subsidiary BRI syariah will soon offer IDR1trn of sukuk mudharabah in November where we see it might attract decent demand amid current burgeoning liquidity in the market as a result of positive progress from tax amnesty.
