Chandra Asri Petrochemical, Tbk (TPIA IJ), is the only company in Indonesia that possesses a naptha cracker, has signed an EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction) contract with Toyo Engineering Group. Its contract is for the construction of a new Polyethylene facility located in the Naptha Cracker complex in Cilegon, Banten. These new plant facility will produce High Density Polyethylene (HDPE), Linear Low Density Polyethylene (LLDPE), and Metallocene LLDPE. Toyo Engineering Corporation and Toyo Engineering Korea Limited, are in charge of detailed engineering and suppliers of imported equipment, while Inti Karya Persada Tehnik as the contractor and supplier of local equipment. The total project cost worth USD350mn, expected to completed and commerce operating at year 2019 and 2020 respectively. Currently, Chandra Asri operates 336KTA of Polyethylene plant, and the new construction of 400KTA Polyethylene plant, will bring company’s total polyethylene production to 736KTA.
